What's Medicare?

Medicare is a federal health insurance program for people aged 65 and older and younger individuals with certain disabilities and End-Stage Renal Disease. Established in 1965, it offers several components: Part A covers hospital and inpatient services; Part B covers outpatient care and doctor visits; Part C (Medicare Advantage) and Part D (prescription drugs) provide additional coverage options through private insurers.
